Sometimes life can feel rather overwhelming when it comes to learning how to manage blogging and family. You may find yourself struggling with the perfect balance of maintaining your blog income while keeping your family happy. I can attest to the fact that I’m not always great at balancing both equally. Today I wanted to share a few tips so that you can learn some good strategies for managing both loves of your life, blogging, and family.
Carve out Time
If you carve out time for blogging and family time separate, so that you’re 100% focused on each during their allotted times then you’ll find you are better able to manage both. Figured out a schedule for your blogging work first, a specific block of time where you’ll only focus on blogging. Once you’ve established the time for blogging, plan for family time around those hours.
One of the hardest things about managing blogging and family is teaching your family to respect boundaries. Often I can feel pulled in so many directions at once, and that’s become I don’t always communicate my boundaries effectively. Once you’ve carved out your time for blogging, be sure the entire household knows that you’re on do not disturb mode during those hours.
Change of Scenery
Sometimes family just doesn’t want to leave you alone, this can happen during summer break season. Try to change your scenery once or twice a week to focus heavily on blogging instead of family. Changing scenery to get some blogging work done will eliminate your yearning to tend to family and help inspire your creativity.
Make Time to Unwind
It’s easy to get laser-focused on blogging work and go back to your old ways of juggling family and blogging with no real schedule. If you find that you’re simply having a hard time setting blogging work hours, setting boundaries or balancing both blogging and family then take a break. There’s no reason why you can’t listen to your mind and take a mental health break from blogging.
Feel Confident and Back on Track
When you use each of these tips to manage blogging and family, you’ll soon find that you’re less stressed, anxious and feel more confident in all areas of your blog and family life. Its’ easy to get overwhelmed or fall off the bandwagon when it comes to working from home with family around, but these tips can help get you back on track quickly.
