Let’s be real here, sometimes you simply don’t feel like blogging. You wake up with a whole new day ahead of you and that whole idea of blogging slips from your abilities.
While blogging is a fun career choice and I am super grateful to be a blogger, sometimes I just don’t feel like it. I am not quite sure what works and doesn’t work when it comes to blogging on a day that you’d rather be doing something else, but today I figured I’d share some tips. Maybe one or two of these ideas will help you blog when you don’t feel like it.
Commit to 15 Minutes
Start your day off with the commitment to write for 15 minutes. Letting yourself get to that blogging work for just 15 minutes will help get the writer’s block removed and soon you’ll be 400 words into a blog article. No reason to stop now, you’ve already come so far. Making the commitment to writing for 15 minutes can really be the necessary component to getting you blogging during a day like today.
Remember the Purpose
When you first starting blogging you must have had a reason. Think about the purpose of why you have this blog, to begin with. This should help inspire you to start blogging when you don’t feel like it. If your passion or direction has changed, then you could rethink your purpose behind blogging and switch things up to inspire a love of blogging again.
Plan Your Calendar
So you may not feel like blogging, but you could plan your blog posts, right? Pick up that calendar and start brainstorming some ideas. Write down National Holidays that are coming up in the next few months. Write down ideas of topics you want to discuss on your blog. Once you’re done with planning your editorial calendar, perhaps you’ll be inspired to write something.
Change your Scenery
Sometimes I don’t feel like blogging because I am tired of looking at the same old office every day. Changing your scenery can do wonders for your blogging funk. Consider moving to a different spot in your home, sit on the deck or go to a local café that offers free wifi. Sometimes, all you need is a little change of scenery to get that blogging mind to work again.
Lightly Push Yourself
There are many small things you can do to blog when you don’t feel like it. The key is to push yourself a little harder, change your scenery and do some brainstorming to get the creative mind working. Each of these tips on how to blog when you don’t feel like it will surely help you write today, no matter how you’re feeling.
